The journey from Monaco to Uzes is about 320km – not counting getting slightly lost in Nice. We drove the lower corniche right along the coast and then had a few GPS moments on a merry dance through the backstreets of Nice until there was enough clear sky to get it sorted out.

Uzes is charming as ever. Our apartment is really good and quite cheap. We are at the opposite end of town from last time we were here but its all of a ten minute walk to the other place.

Carrying along with the Bond theme – I think we have stumbled on his secret hideout in rural France.

Strangely enough no locals park on this spot – maybe there were a few “accidents”

Last night on our arrival we were hungry but lazy!

This is what happens when you order a large from the Sicilian Pizza place across the street – I think we still have two more lunches to go.

Nothing major to report, we spent a good deal of time walking about, stopping around three in the square for a blanc du duche or, today un rose..

Uzes has some great doors

This one with the tower is where we stayed last time.

Now a couple of details..

In Uzes and many other places there is no household garbage and recycling pickup you take your stuff to one of these locations and sort it into these above ground “mailboxes” it falls down into a huge container and once in a while a truck comes by and lifts out the whole thing and puts in an empty one.

Kind of like a community mailbox except you put junk in not take it out.

Our apartment is on the top floor but there is also an attic – I think this is a cool way to make a set of compact stairs.
